Hello readers!

Lately, I've received a handful of questions regarding Brooklyn and her many adventures in Unwritten. While I have my personal answers as the author, I want to hear yours.

There truly is no write (get it) or wrong answers. As a reader myself, I'm always interested to hear your opinions and thoughts. Feel free to reach out via email (kpwhaley@whaleywrites.com) and let me know what you think. It truly does help me as a writer.

Unwritten Discussion Questions

1. The inspiration behind Brooklyn Pieper’s story is a single question: what makes a good person do bad things? What do you believe the answer to this question is, and what event or experience would cause you to turn on your own beliefs or go “bad”?

2. Who do you believe is La Rose Jaune? Is it the same person who left behind the white rose at Brooklyn’s crime scene?

3. What do you believe happened in the missing years of Brooklyn’s life (the year after Sam died and the three years after she left the FBI)?

4. Trauma is a big influence in Brooklyn’s story. It both consciously and subconsciously factors into her actions and decisions throughout the novella. Does trauma excuse people’s behaviors or decisions throughout life or is it just an influence?

5. Brooklyn states that Jackson Offendorf is her best friend and mentions he and Declan were rivals when they first met. Do you think it’s possible for men and women to just be platonic friends or does at least one person in the pairing have feelings for the other?

6. Brooklyn truly believes Declan is dead throughout the novel. When do you think she discovered he was alive, and what was her reaction?

7. What do you think comes next for our main characters, and if there’s a sequel, should it be from Brooklyn’s perspective? Or someone else’s?

8. Who is the author of Brooklyn’s book or any of the books in the cabin library?

9. There are over one billion people on planet earth currently and thousands more who lived and died. Do you think all their books are in the same library or could there be more scattered throughout the world?

10. If you found the library, would you be like Brooklyn and read your own book? What would it look like? What would the title be?

As always, thank you for your support!

Happy reading!

Sincerely,

Me (K.P.)
